Part of taking care of your skin and wellbeing is making sure you’re eating the right foods. It look me a while to understand this. I practically lived on dairy products…cottage cheese with fruit, Greek yogurt, cheese on sandwiches, half and half in my coffee, the list goes on. When my dermatologist suggested I remove dairy from my diet for a few weeks, I saw changes in my skin. I wasn’t breaking out. It was mind-blowing because at the time I didn’t realize dairy could cause acne.
Aside from avoiding dairy, I also try to incorporate these acne fighting foods into my diet regularly.
Because of my acne experience, I have a new appreciation for vegan foods. Even though I am not vegan, I tend to gravitate towards the vegan tomato soup and vegan carrot cake because I know it will help prevent a future breakout.
