Acne-Friendly Products to Give You a Holiday Glow

This holiday season I am determined to score that holiday glow. In previous years, I used make-up to disguise inflammation and breakouts but if I prep my skin early enough, my complexion will brighten and I’ll keep my breakouts and inflammation under control.

And scars? I haven’t forgotten about those! A number of the products I’m featuring are great at scar reduction so you can use less layers of foundation and truly bring out your natural glow. We got this acne warriors!

1. Atoclassic Real Tonic Soothing Origin Essence

One of the secrets to Korean beauty! Use this after toner and before your moisturizer and it will reduce redness and inflammation and give you that “bright-eyed, well-rested look.” I just bought this during Peach & Lily’s 30 percent off Black Friday sale!

2. Origins Dr. Andrew Weil for Mega-Bright Skin-Illuminating Serum

I have a lot of personal experience with this serum. When I was first diagnosed with adult acne and trying to find ways to reduce scars my mom bought me this serum. It was a life-changer. The scars didn’t go away immediately but after using it twice per day for two to three months, I noticed my scars were less noticeable. Use this after toner and before your moisturizer. I also have this listed as one of my favorite products.

3. Pacifica Sea Change Future Youth Serum

Pacifica Beauty is one of my favorite beauty brands because of how friendly it is to my troubled (and unpredictable skin). It’s also reasonably priced which I love (hello! student loans + mortgage). Using this serum twice per day will hydrate and brighten your complexion. The hydration part is super important during the winter when the air is dry. Did I mention this also tackles fine lines? What better time to get ahead of the aging process? Use this after toner and before your moisturizer.

4. Burt’s Bees Natural Acne Solutions Pore Refining Scrub

This is a triple-whammy! This facial scrub will remove dead skin cells (which can contribute clogged pores…ugh, pimples!) and reduce the appearance of pores. More importantly, it contains acne-fighting ingredients to help eliminate breakouts. I’m no expert but I don’t recommend using this more than once or twice per week because scrubs can be harsh on your skin when used too often.

5. Plant Matcha Antioxidant Face Mask

Two terms here that entice me…”antioxidant” and “face mask.” If I haven’t mentioned…I loooove face masks and this one called out to me because it contains organic ingredients, matcha and chamomile. Both of these ingredients are gentle and promote healthy, refreshed skin. Some say matcha is good for reducing inflammation and brightening complexions because it helps remove dead skin cells. Chamomile is so soothing on irritated skin. This mask is just what your skin needs especially if your holiday season is hectic.

6. Renée Rouleau Skin Drink Concentrate

Doesn’t “skin drink” sound divine? This is like a refreshing cocktail for your face. It’s ideal for sensitive skin because it contains aloe leaf juice and vitamin C, which can give you a well-deserved holiday glow! During the winter when the weather is dry, this concentrate will be your best friend. Use this after toner and before your moisturizer.

7. Renée Rouleau Redness Care Firming Serum

This is one of my favorites! When my cystic acne is full force this does such a good job of eliminating the redness in troubled spots. Another great thing about this serum is that it promotes firm and dewy-looking skin.

Do you currently use any of these products? What are your thoughts? If you do try these, I would love to hear how they’re working for you. Leave a comment below.
